ALAMEDA, Calif.The Oakland Raiders fired Lane Kiffin only four games into his second season, ending a public feud with owner Al Davis that had been simmering since the start of the year.
Davis said he fired the 33-year-old Kiffin yesterday for cause and that he would not pay the remainder his three-year, $6 million (U.S.) contract. Kiffin has been replaced on an interim basis by Tom Cable, the team's offensive line coach.
