'Every now and then, I'll back it up and hit one farther,' Wilcox said, 'but I'm working more on muscle memory, just trying to keep that same little rhythm. 'Before I would kick too many balls or I wouldn't have the focus that I needed. This year we're not kicking as much, but the reps that I get we're making sure that they're all good. It's more detailed. It doesn't give me a chance to have bad kicks or over-kick or goof around.' As the time ticked lower and Elon's offense applied the finishing touches to last week's 15-play, 63-yard drive that set up the winning boot, Wilcox escaped the stream of teammates who approached to offer encouragement.
